LOVELY KALIMPONG: JOURNEY OF MY LIFE

Hi, I am Aditya Dewangan. I study in 10th class in St. Raphael Co-Ed School Bhopal. You all might be wondering what made me write this post to you all ,What made me make a blog. Why would I like to share my  ideas, thoughts, words and feelings with you all. It all started  when I was 10 years old. In 5th standard I developed a  sudden interest in writing stories. Till that age I used to write short stories, mostly of 3-4 pages with some cartoon sketches in it ,which I usually made my friends to read. Those days were awesome. At that time I used to live with my father in Kalimpong,West Bengal, As he had got transferred there, His name is Suresh Kumar Dewangan   and he is an English teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3 Bhopal  now. My mother and my brother  live in Bhopal, Fascinatingly My mother is also a teacher, She is a Hindi  teacher. Her name is Manju Dewangan . And at last but not the least my sweetest brother Sushil . He studies in 7th standard in my school. People of kalimpong usually used to speak Nepali, a famous language of the hill areas. We used to live in a campus given by the school authorities. Which was above all heights at the top ,whenever I used to take a look down . I could see the floating clouds, the cold winds coming from The great Mountain-“Kanchan jangha” and it seemed like sun was bathing behind the clouds, hiding itself. Every morning in my room whenever I used to open the left side window ,I could see “Kanchan jangha”  playing with the beauty of the sun and clouds having a look at them ,trying to cover them with its blanket. There every day was a wonder. Every morning papa used to get ready for school and go with his friend Mr. Anil mohrana sir to school in his bike. He is a drawing teacher. I used to go from a very short way, above the campus there was a great big ground known as Gumfa ground which was just beside my school so I loved  climbing  up the muddy way to gumfa ground which would lead me to my school. Each day I used to see a helicopter there as there  was a military base in the ground. What a  life it was, it was not less than heaven. It’s a saying that- “When you leave a beautiful place, you carry it's memories wherever you go”. I do carry it within me still. In the campus there were many people who were not less than my family.Like Pramanik sir –one of my favourite  sir, he was tall handsome and young and most importantly a very good friend of mine, then comes Ajay sagar sir, the one who was my  caretaker,he was very friendly which brought  me close to him He is a married man. The lovely  couple loved me the most ,whenever anything new used to be cooked in their house I was the one to taste it first , then comes a person of my taste ,  the one who was  like me –Menna sir,he used to teach maths ,like me he was also so called an “nerd psycho of computer & games”.i loved to play computer games and he was the one to provide me those games. Last but not the least Anil mahorana sir he was my father's best friend and I bet he still is,he used to  teach me drawing and he loved speaking english but was a bit poor in it so he used to take training from me of English. Here comes the best part- Every Sunday we all used to get up late at nearly 9:00 and aproximately at 10:00 the dark clouds used to disappear  before the sun, outside the campus we had a green glowing grassy garden ,where we used to spread our mat and lay down and play music of ninetees  one of the favourate song of pramanik sir, among all  I used to yawn and sleep lazily with meena sir. But as evening would come I used to check newspaper for any new movie and If i would get new movie everybody- sagar sir, sagar aunty, anil sir, papa, meena sir, pramanik sir we all used to go straight towards the bewore hall as it is a theater,as it is of military it has the cheapest ticket ever like only 20 rs per person, and we used to watch the movie and after coming back it would become a cold night which made us all think of baking something special, and usually we used to make chicken, because of the temperature and weathear of that place it made the people fond of eating non veg things like fish, chicken etc which would digest properly there, and my family was non veg too so I was very fond of eating chicken, which can be a reason of making me a bit fatty,we all used to eat together and then exactly at 10:00pm meena sir would knock my door and tell me to inform papa to come to play carrom, this is my favourate part,I would love to inform papa and quickly go upstairs and inform pramanik sir ,anil sir and sagar sir about it,and then we all  used to play carrom,it never happened that meena sir would not take out the queen and I always would regret for that ,after 11:00 we all used to feel sleepy ,sometimes I would sleep in meena sir’s home only, which would uncertainly make papa in trouble getting me up. This is what my life was in kalimpong, still the memories are vivid. I wish to go back in the lap of Nature forgetting all burdons of studies.

Thank you for reading
